Comments Thread For: Ruben Guerrero: Robert Would Fight Keith Thurman

Ruben Guerrero, father and trainer of former champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (31-2-1, 18KOs), says his son has no problem fighting Keith "One Time" Thurman (23-0, 21KOs) in the future.

Golden Boy Promotions had tried to match them last December, but Guerrero took a pass on the fight. Both Robert and Ruben were unhappy with the financial terms that Golden Boy put on the table for a fight with Thurman.

These guys fight Mayweather and think they're million dollar PPV fighters. Robert "Guerrero" performance was awful.

His performance was actually better than Canelo's. Guerrero clearly won 3 rounds, while Canelo only won 1, maybe 2 at best.

Pops your son should have chosen a different profession like MMA or bare knuckle fights. Its not called punching bag, its called boxing. You can't call yourself a professional boxer then cry and whine " why won't they stand there and let me hit them?" If your son doesn't have the skills and mentality to adjust to his opponent like cut the ring off or hit to body to take his legs away or try to beat him to the punch with jabs, then he shouldn't be in the ring in the first place.

Yeah but its quite obvious Canelo was a huge seller in that, he's probably in the top 3 most popular fighters.

Thurman would decapitate Guerrero, i'm certain. No shame in preserving your son's head Ruben

Guerrero didn't deserve a shot at Mayweather and got it. Now Robert should give Thurman a chance...even though they're both a similar draw. I just want to see Ghost get Ghosted...he needs to be KOed .

He doesn't have an entire country following him like canelo does. 40,000 packed house at the alome dome, guerrero won't do half that, plus canelo just sold 500k ppv buys headlining the show, guerrero won't do 50k
