Sometimes the best fights come from desperation.

Devon Alexander and Jesus Soto-Karass are both at a point where winning is essential for the future of their career, while a loss could forever cast them off in a welterweight division already overflowing with talent. Only one will have the chance to move on as they square off in the opening leg of a Showtime-televised tripleheader Saturday evening at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Both are coming off of a loss, coming in separate cards in back-to-back weekends last December, and to two of the hottest young fighters in the game.

Interesting none of the experts bring up Alexanders grab-and-hold mantra. I still think he wins, but wow would it ever be sweet if Soto-Karas catches, drops, and stops him. Wonder what kinda grunt noise Alexander would make then? HA!

I don't have a problem with Alexander. This guy's resume will blow eveyone's out of the water. Alexander wanted Guerrero not Soto Karass. Don't know what happened there. The Ghost basically ducked Thurman and Alexander.

Upset is all I see in most of the fight! The ghost and Alex will get humiliated by cabbies!

I hope Soto sparks Devon but I doubt it.

Devon is going to stink up the joint
