Comments Thread For: Amir Khan on Hunter: He Doesn't Lie To Me, I Need Him

After going through several trainers, including Hall of Fame coach Freddie Roach, WBC silver welterweight beltholder Amir Khan (29-3, 19KOs) believes he finally found the right training connection with veteran coach Virgil Hunter.

Last month at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Khan looked impressive under Hunter when he dropped former champion Luis Collazo three times to win a twelve round unanimous decision on the Mayweather-Maidana undercard.

Khan wants to return in October or November, with fighters like Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao and Shawn Porter in his sights.

Fight Mayweather, PAC, Thurman, or Porter and...

Virgil will be hugging and pampering your lose like he does his other fighters that lose. Andre Ward keeps on winning to avoid this treatment. Amir, you better stick to fighting the Petersens, Garcias , or maybe even Karass but pls stay away from 1st class fighters.

Virgil Hunter is the most overrated trainer there is and was yawning in the ring before the Berto vs Soto Karass fight

And if Khan wants to talk about liars, how about the time he said he was sparring Andre Ward and Virgil Hunter told everyone that never happened

CH - Virgil is a great trainer and has proven his worth. Might not be to your personal liking but to say he's the most overrated is a bit of a stretch. Different styles and techniques in Sports training but they are all worthy of respect.

In fairness and truth Kahn is a great fighter with excellent hand speed and great technique. His 3 biggest flaws however are his chin, getting anxious and going toe to toe with big punchers and NOT being able to shut his mouth! Regardless, i still respect him as a fighter. He has no fear and he will fight anyone but again sadly he has his flaws.

Who knows? Maybe Virgil can make a difference.

Khan will be 38 years old and still talking about how he's fixing his mistakes and his umpteenth trainer revitalizing the "true" Khan.
