what's sad is when people go into a fight with the fixed idea being, he either wins and if he doesn't it's because he's shot/drained/broken legs, without any thought of paying attention to the fight

sergio martinez was getting tagged at will vs williams, pavlik and chavez jr, the best competition he's faced, all punching bags with no other direction but forward

this guys was getting outboxed by barker, macklin at stretches then overwhelmed them with strength and punching power

why the *** you think he can't be outboxed by a fighter 10x the boxer as the macklins and barkers of the world, i dont know

i mean majority on here actually thought martinez would win because he'd "outbox" cotto, when anyone that actually pays attention to boxing knows he's best shot was overwhelming cotto with power, size, and workrate, but when cotto showed he could *** him up with a punch, even a hypejob like martinez knew he couldn't walk to him, cotto counter's/speed/accuracy >>>> anyone martinez has faced, and his power was likely up there that night

Don't mind them. They just disgruntled. They were caught up into hype, and that's why the majority of the forum favored Martinez by T/KO. It wasn't like they favored just a decision, or a toss-up. They favored a goddamn T/KO! They deserve no mercy and should be clowned for years.

Hype didn't allow them to see that Cotto was much more fundamentally sound of a boxer than Martinez. Martinez's knees were so bad that he was sprinting in seconds across the ring to legally cheap shot Cotto when he turned his back.

I barely got to download the replay yesterday, I couldnt watch it live as I had to be somewhere. When it first got made, I was really excited for the fight and couldnt wait to watch it because I was sure it was going to be a great one. Seeing Martinez train with an elbow brace and knee braces made me lose some faith in the fight but I was still hoping for the best. Then I read the news and hear peoples comments and it sure seemed like a dull fight with Martinez looking worn and not like the fighter we've known. It sucks when great fighters like Martinez go out like that and dont get to show their worth in a particular fight. Then theres the hype that comes after fights like these, Roach and some media start talking like hes a miracle worker and then his other fighter gets out boxed a few days later. It just sucks when a fight of this magnitude ends up being a letdown, especially because one of them comes in with limiting issues that sucks the life out of a potentially great fight.
