It sucks when fights end up like Cotto vs Martinez

I barely got to download the replay yesterday, I couldnt watch it live as I had to be somewhere. When it first got made, I was really excited for the fight and couldnt wait to watch it because I was sure it was going to be a great one. Seeing Martinez train with an elbow brace and knee braces made me lose some faith in the fight but I was still hoping for the best. Then I read the news and hear peoples comments and it sure seemed like a dull fight with Martinez looking worn and not like the fighter we've known. It sucks when great fighters like Martinez go out like that and dont get to show their worth in a particular fight. Then theres the hype that comes after fights like these, Roach and some media start talking like hes a miracle worker and then his other fighter gets out boxed a few days later. It just sucks when a fight of this magnitude ends up being a letdown, especially because one of them comes in with limiting issues that sucks the life out of a potentially great fight.

Martinez signed the contract, got a nice pay day knowing he was not close to 100 percent so it is what it is. Cotto did what he had to do and hit the lottery

The hype for the fight and the anticipation leading up was well worth it, regardless of how it played out. In fact, that was the reason for this fight got made. People wanted to know how it would play out. Obviously it didn't play out well for Sergio, but you can't sit here and tell me you weren't either shocked, nervous as hell, or excited.

This fight had to happen from a business stand point, think about it. This just opened a huge number of possibilities which could generate a ****** amount of money. It might suck for Martinez but Cotto is doing pretty good!

Am actually glad it's Cotto that Martinez sold his belt to, can you imagine if that was GGG who got that win over that cripple? Those September 2012 GGG fanatics would have been worse than what we are now getting with the Cotto bunch.

You're telling me...i actually paid for the PPV to watch it live with friends and Martinez is freaking hobbling around the ring with a bum knee.

Excuse me (cough-cough) I thought it was a great fight and I've never considered Sergio a great fighter. He's a good fighter but not a great fighter. To me most of all the people that got butt hurt after the fight were Cotto haters. People who just wanted to see King Cotto get his ***ing face smashed in and when it didn't happen it’s all about the excuses. Oh Martinez knee caps and wrist weren't 100% and that's why Cotto won. Listen man, Martinez was very close to becoming great 5 years ago..IMO

2 Sides to the Coins, Those who were Martinez fans feel cheated and think the fight sucks but those who are Cotto fans love that fight.

I really dont have Many favorite fighters and Cotto/Martinez are not one of them so to me watching the Cotto Martinez fight was just a fight to me, one that didnt live up to the hype IMO but it went the way it went, its boxing no one knows for certain how a fight gonna turn out.

Cotto is just a tougher, stronger, more superb fighter than Martinez. Always has been, always will be. In 2008, or 2014. Period.
