The one thing that so many here have failed to acknowledge or address, and keep skipping, is the fact that Oscar did not get lured to be against his own promotional company.

The reason Oscar turned on Richard and his peeps, had really nothing to do with anything personal, and had everything to do with having people in charge who were creating yearly red ink for his company. There are rumors that GBP never turned in a year end profit in it's history. In the years they did make some money, they would invest back into the company to make it bigger and bigger, but it got too big for the market. What we have seen here is the resulting implosion. The so called Arum involvement is not the cause of the problem, but was Oscar checking the waters for a solution. Oscar does not want to work with Arum because he wants to, but because he needs too, to start the rebuilding phase. Oscar once supported the "closed dome" UFC style approach, but came to grips that it was not a long term solution.

Simply put, to run a promotional company in this sport you need to run a tight ship, as it contains a few financial peaks and many valleys. Oscar's company got too big to maintain itself. It had too much money floating around in too many directions and lots of hands grabbing it.
