He said in the interview it's not about belts at this stage as it is about big fights so why go on about Brook getting a belt? A Brook fight would be much bigger than fighting the likes of Alexander or Guerrero. Unless he gets Manny, Floyd or JMM next I don't see why Khan just doesn't fight Brook.

Brook getting a belt would make it even bigger and most of all "meaningful" for Khan. At this point if Khan beats Brook it'll be "oh he beat a hype job" and if Khan loses, well his career goes down the drain. Sure, he'll make good $ in the process, but it isn't worth losing to an up and comer than it would've if it was Collazo. If Khan beats Brook the "IBF champ" it'll mean something. Khan wants the fight really bad as well, but Brook has to make it meaningful for him. A win over Collazo meant more for Khan than it would've if he beat Brook.

Khan can fight Guerrero or even Maidana in a rematch and I'm sure you'd agree those fights mean more for Khan's career than Brook.

After watching that last Froch fight why wouldn't he want to follow those steps especially if the fight is ripe if Brooks beats Porter
