Comments Thread For: Team Provodnikov Eyes Algieri Rematch, Neutral Venue

This past Saturday night Ruslan Provodnikov lost his WBO junior welterweight title by split decision to Chris Algieri. The decision has been hotly debated in the aftermath and media members were split in informal polls after the fight in regards to who they believe should have been the victor.

Algieri was knocked down twice in the first round and had his eye swollen shut but adjusted well after the knockdowns to outbox Provodnikov in many of the rounds.

haha come on Ruslan, I like you man stop making a fool of yourself. He should've gotten the nod anywhere, the venue had nothing to do with it.

I wouldn't mind the rematch in Siberia. Let's see if the score cards change a bit. (I'm just being a **** aka the venue matters. It shouldn't, but it does.)

In Siberia, Algieri would get laughed out of the state, country, whatever they call it.

Why do people keep saying, "Provo landed the harder shots." After the first round, neither guy was ever visably hurt. I don't care if Provo was hitting him with a sledgehammer and Algeri was hitting him with a pillow. Algeri landed the cleaner shots. And he landed more of them.

Yeah, Algeri is such a wimp for eating cooked meat and not sniffing glue.

That's not my point. Where you fight matters << that's my point.

Now remember I said IT SHOULDNT MATTER, but IT DOES. Before you come in here and lose control of yourself (as I see you do a lot.)

Seeing how Provo was the house fighter with the HBO backing. I'm sure Chris was surprised to get a close decisiob after hitting the deck twice and having his eye look the way it did.

The notion that Algeri got home cooking is ****** because he wasn't the house fighter. He was chosen because he had an undefeated record and because 1000 or so folks from Huntington might come to the fight. The network and promoter were backing Provo.
