    LAS VEGAS, NV – Former world lightweight champion and pound-for-pound all-action fighter BRANDON "Bam Bam" RIOS of Oxnard, Calif. makes his eagerly-anticipated 2014 debut when he takes on one-time interim world champion DIEGO "La Joya" CHAVES of Buenos Aires, in a 10-round welterweight battle, Saturday, August 2, in The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas (3708 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las Vegas, NV 89109). The fight will be televised live on HBO Boxing After Dark®. The telecast will also include the first title defense of World Boxing Association (WBA) super lightweight champion "The Pride of Las Vegas" JESSIE VARGAS against undefeated contender ANTON "The Pick Hammer" NOVIKOV, of Kopeysk, Russia. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. PT with the first bout beginning at 4:00 p.m. PT. The HBO telecast, a split-site tripleheader, will begin at 9:45 p.m. ET/PT.

      Yeah Chaves is gonna whip Rios a__. This might be it for Rios as far as marquee fights.

          I'll be kinda shocked if Rios wins....I really think Chaves is gonna beat him up....the fight will be exciting though....FOTY?!?

              Ooooh, I like this fight. I like both guys, but I think I'm gonna ride with Bam-Bam to take it. I see both guys getting nailed, but I feel like Chaves's chin won't hold up as long as Rios's.

                  Chaves is a helluva fighter, but even in Rios' two losses he held up swell. If this turns into a barn-burner I got my money on Rios.

                  It's obvious that Rios can be easily outboxed though.

                  Should be an interesting fight.

                    EDIT!!!!!!!!!

                    just dropped one of my homies off at the crib....on my drive home I got to thinking about this fight real hard....Chaves don't like it to the body....Thurman got to him there....Rios goes to the body hard....so I have to change up and give Rios a more than solid chance in this one.....dope ass fight tbh
