Comments Thread For: Illness Scratches Hughie Fury From T.Fury-Chisora II Bill

Hughie Fury 14-0 (8) has had to withdraw from the Tyson Fury-Dereck Chisora II undercard on July 26 due to illness.

The 19-year-old was hoping to build on a career best win against Danny Hughes, 12-3-2 (3) in his last fight but the effects of a currently undiagnosed condition have forced him out of action.

“He’s suffering with fatigue, headaches, nausea and stomach pains,” Peter Fury, Hughie’s father and trainer explained to BoxingScene.com. “He’s had these symptoms for four years but they are getting worse. Until we can find out what he has we’ll be keeping him out of the ring.” [Click Here To Read More]

There was a point when it seemed he was fighting every other week. He was setting a relentless pace for a teenager. He will be a frightening prospect when 100% fit and ready.

Peter says that Hughie has only been fighting at 50%. Obviously you have to take what his dad says with a pinch of salt though. I hope he recovers soon. He's a very good prospect IMHO.

Hughie has had this illness for a number of years, and he has been training and fighting through it. The symptoms are getting worse though so boxing is going to have to take a back seat while he deals with it.
