Does boxing need a serious shake up?

I have been going back through all the years as far back as I could remember, and although the sport has always had its corruption now in this era it is just diabolically disgusting.

I am like any other fan wanting to see good fights, I will pay my £££ when I am given the fights we deserve, I dog about to earn my money and as hard as life is when the occasion comes to treat myself rather than spend it on the boxing PPV rather than some wasteful trip to my other hobby of performance vehicles. I spend that money on the PPV and have my friends around til 6am squinting my eyes and staying awake for the action.

Now, all this GBP, Top Rank, Al Haymon, Richard Schaefer, Floyd Mayweather... Bullshit! has tipped me over the edge. I am sick of hearing these petty people destroy our sport. They squabble like women on their periods over what has happened 10yrs ago or longer.

I don't like Bob Arum I think he's a old scumbag and although I don't wish death upon anyone, I won't miss him when his time has gone.

Al Haymon, the doubleagent protecting every fighter from Mayweather to Amir Khan, To Adonis Stevenson. The WBA, WBO, IBF, WBC, IBO whatever the hell else there is need to stop being little toe rags and go hard at these promoters and fighters. When people are turning over the channel to watch UFC you know something really isn't right, (especially when they're at your house for PPV you just paid for). They are far too soft and spineless against these promotion companies and fighters.

Drastic changes need to be made to how and when things are becoming ridiculously ****** (example Floyd crying about Chino's gloves & Groves crying about so on before the rematch).

This is a sport not a party where you can be a complete and utter arsehole and just be ignored and nothing be done about it because its the norm and people misbehave in such circumstances.

I want to see the likes of Provodnikov fighting Matthysse, Bradley fighting Mayweather, Maidana vs Thurman, Khan vs Porter, Pac vs Floyd, JMM vs Rios, Wilder vs Wlad, Adonis vs Kovalev, GGG vs Quillin and so on, and whatever any other fan wants to see

    (also Broner vs Matthysse)

At the end of the day the presidential pen pushers at the boxing associations are there for a reason, they have to throw their weight around and do whats right for the sport, if that means taking Oscars promotional license off him due to him not being competent enough to run his own company so be it. I like Oscar he fought to his legend status but if he cant control his personal issues which is reflecting on promotional companies demise then he must be removed from the equation, same for Arum, Schaefer and that scumbag Haymon who's just "advising" every boxer to cherrypick for as much $$$ as possible.

These people need to have the books thrown at them infact high five the book in their faces!

I just want to see some real boxing again, I want to be able to pay for my subscription and feel like it was money spent worthwhile, not be robbed and left hating the sport and wanting to look away from it.

I would like to hear others opinions on the matter and please if i'm missing something educate me on the issues I maybe unaware of as I don't know everything but I try to understand what, where and why.

    Thanks.

Yes it needs a change, and if not a change then another league. (Like how the NFL and XFL)

      It would be:

      boxing has no judges,

just a ref to make sure no fouls (if u hit a guy low blow ref stops the match and allows u to low blow him right back),

and fight ends when someone gets knocked out or quits (or corner stops),

and if after 12 3:00 rounds still no loser, then have to do it again the following week, if guy doesn't want to then he forfeits and takes a loss.

winner gets 60 percent of the money loser gets 40,

plus 1 belt per weight division

and fighters can't duck if they are number 1 contender

Agreed friend. I agree on all the fights besides Wilder vs Wlad. I think Wilder should fight Stiverne and Fury or Chisora first simply because him going straight to Wlad is exactly whats wrong with things right now.
Formula goes like this. Exciting fighter fights tons of bums, then on "credible opponent" at the bottom of the top 10 then gets a shot at the title. If they lose then their real career begins. If they win then they start ducking everyone as long as they can and maybe even give up the belt to continue fighting fringe contenders.

I know boxing is a sport and the UFC is just a company promoting fights of the sport MMA. I get it but it's more similar to the other sports like basketball football and baseball where one league runs the show. NBA NFL MLB. There u have the best vs the best with no bull**** like we have in boxing. If it could be more like those sports, we would not have the problems we have now.

Exactly and this approach would make the sport become what it once was again. Nothing will ever top football and I'm not bothered because that's unrealistic, but the game of boxing today is slowly being made into a joke.

It is! You should see me trying to make sense of what I'm saying when I try to explain why Pacquiao vs Mayweather couldn't ever get made to casuals. They just look at me like wtf????? And they say this is why I just watch NBA or NFL, and why the UFC is more like a fighters league than boxing is.

Lol its pointless trying to explain anything to a casual they don't understand the simple reasons of why Nonito Donaire can't fight JMM or another one why Floyd Mayweather can't face Bernard Hopkins haha
