Can someone explain to me why Roger and Mayweather SR are highly regarded trainers?

I understand that they both basically gave Floyd one of the best defences of all time which is a mixture of what they did themselves but weren't as good at as Floyd is. Other than that what else makes them so highly regarded? What is their resume so to speak?

My guess would be because of what they made out of Floyd. That type of success is going to get you noticed.

Floyd Sr has worked with other good fighters as well (with mixed results). He did a fairly good job with DLH and Oscar says he's the best trainer. That's high praise from a fighter who has worked with other good trainers.

I always thought Floyd Sr. was overrated and understood why he kept getting fired when his fighters lost. Roger has knowledge but might be a one trick pony with his nephew.

Oscar did write in his book that Floyd Sr was the best trainer he ever had. Definitely high praise.

It may be the work they're doing in the gym. But as far as directions and instructions during the fight, they're terrible.
