Comments Thread For: Hearn May Potentially Challenge Top Rank, Golden Boy

British promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport is running one of the most successful promotional companies in boxing. He has an exclusive television deal with Sky Sports and promotes numerous highly regarded champions, contenders and rising prospects.

Hearn is now seriously considering the possibility of entering the American market, which is largely dominated by Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions.

Won't happen, America has all the big boys and theyre alreadya aware that Al Haymon is their man, and with Richard Schaefer most likely popping out his own promotional company soon (hence why Shawn Porters waiting) there will be enough crap as going on with fighters not wanting to fight each other running to different promotional companies.

We dont need another company to come in and cause more complications.

I've known Eddie for over 10 years, if he decides to take this on the he'll succeed.

Matchroom are by far the best and most loyal promotional team in the world, they are the only ones who take chances and will allow the fighters to pick the fights they want. All American promoters are scumbags, the history of the country is littered with them, to be frank if i were an American citizen i'd be deeply ashamed, embarrassed and would make every effort to change citizenship.

I also heard that Eddie has a massive willy and likes it being tickled.

I think it would be a good idea for everyone involved to start promoting AJ in America now - especially if they are serious about bringing big time heavyweight boxing back.

Get him on a couple of shows, and slowly but surely build his profile so the fights with Wilder, Jennings etc down the line will be on HBO/Showtime and not ESPN.

Aren't you a Haye fan? That alone makes you a scum bag.

Good! More competition forces promotional companies to put on better quality fights!

I think hes already making enough money in the U.K.

I think he offered Khan 5 mill to fight Brook which is a great amount. The only fighter in America he could make that much with is Pacquiao. Khan would be lucky to get $2 mill against Floyd

And Froch just made $13 million.

I really like the way they promoted the Froch vs Groves rematch. They did a lot of 1 on 1 interviews like HBO face off but longer. The U.S. companies should start doing that

Wouldn't surprise me of he did, he's the best promoter in the world IMO, and I have no doubt he'll succeed.

Hearn is making big money at the moment. His exclusive contract with Sky is a licence to print cash.
