Hold up...people are calling the Ruslan fight a robbery?

I posted the same thing. I really like Ruslan but come on, Algieri boxed the **** out of him the entire fight. If it wasnt for the two KD in round one and the eye looking as horrible as it did, it would have been a boxing masterclass.
Ruslan could have KO Algieri in round 1 and end it then and there, no one would have said a thing. But that didnt happen, the fight went 12 rounds and Algieri simply aboutboxed him the entire fight. That's that.

Provodnikov gave away a bunch of rounds after the kds but if anyone scores the first 10-7 as they should then that means all Provodnikov had to do to draw was win a few of the remaining 11 rounds. I actually had him winning 3-4 rounds after the kd, but Algieri's face was telling everyone one thing, but the reality of the fight was another. I cant call this a robbery,but imo should have slightly gone the other way . That being said in a boxing world where I have seen real highway no doubt robberies I cant in good conscience call this one.

It wasn't a robbery, it was just a cheap win. Meaning generic and soft.

I can't call it anything less when a guy looks like he got hit in the face with a baseball bat several times. And people are calling it a masterful performance. The work rate got it done. Had Ruslan matched him for punches then what????

And had Ruslan knocked him down in round 1 then what? Everyone would have gone, "see, Ruslan is a beast and this other kid is some lab geek that has no place in boxing"
But then again we cant talk about what should have or could have, we can talk about what happened and what happened was that Algieri showed a shtload of heart to keep cool after a disastrous round one and simply won the other 11 rounds. When you avoid getting punched while landing more punches than the guy trying to punch you, thats called outboxing the other guy.

Definitely a robbery.. should have been a clear UD to Algieri but instead some dumb judge scored it for Prov so it was only a SD? wtf?

yeah the 117-109 ruslan was awful... I dont mind the split decision as i thought it was a close fight with the knockdowns and ruslan built up an early lead that he wasted in the 2nd half of the fight..
I actually had it 6 rounds apiece with the knockdowns giving ruslan a 114-112 win, but ruslan did not win 7 or 8 or 9 rounds, thats just crazy

Exactly,, ruslan won more rounds than just the 1st.. judges suck,, ruslan clearly won alot of the early rounds, i gave chris the 2nd but that was about it for the early rounds.. Ruslan was dropping heavy bombs, but after 6 chris took over.
I cant believe people actually think algieri won 10 or 11 rounds in the fight,, he won 6 or 7

I had it 6 rounds apiece with the kds giving ruslan a slight edge 114-112..

But i got no problem with chris winning,, he clearly dominated the 2nd half of the fight. I had ruslan up big after 5 rounds but chris took over the rest of the way..

same, i had it 4-2 ruslan after 6 but ended it 7-5 algeiri, results in a draw cos of KD, a win either way wouldnt trouble me

It was too close to be a robbery in either direction but the judge who gave Ruslan 117 or whatever was clearly not sober.

How can you call this a cheap win??You must have never been in a fight,cause there was nothing cheap about what Algieri had to go through to get the win..Very good win for him,and nothing to be ashamed of by Prov..Great fight,why do people always feel the need to detract??
