Comments Thread For: Garcia To Roach: I Guess This Drunk Knows About Boxing

More than likely, trainer Robert Garcia had a big smile on his face when he jabbed back at fellow coach, Freddie Roach.

Last night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Roach's fighter Ruslan Provodnikov lost his WBO junior welterweight championship, by way of a split decision, to undefeated challenger Chris Algieri.

In several pre-fight interviews, Garcia gave Algieri a good shot of unseating the heavily favored champion from Siberia. In the past, Algieri spent time in Garcia's gym located in Oxnard, California.

Not sure if Freddie will get the nod for Trainer of the Year for 2014, but he's well on his way to repeating as Douche Bag of the Year.

Both are world class trainers but both Roach and Garcia also come across as divas sometimes. This petty crap takes away from Algieri's win.

Robert Garcia 1, Freddie Roach 0.

Maidana did better against Floyd than Provodnikov did against Algieri.

well to be fair brandon rios got totally dominated by pacquiao, that was a one-sided beat down, a mismatch..

dont think roach trained prov properly for this fight because he was concentrating much more on cotto against martinez.. its like what he did to khan in the garcia camp (only that was much worse because he wasn't even in the same country, he was training pac in PH while khan trained himself for most of the camp)..
