    Provo-Algieri comparable to Alvarez-Trout

The fight had the exact same feeling to it with one fighter pumping out jabs controlling the ring and the other was looking gun shy but controlling the crowd with the very few power shots thrown.Only this time there was no big promoter behind any of these fighters trying to protect there record and the W was givin to the right man... but but but the knockdown ..AND? ...Ruslan knocked that guy down twice but was still outworked..

    yeah kinda

I thought trout-canelo was back and forth the entire way,,

Ruslan started off strong but then faded and algieri took over... No one ever took over complete control in the trout-canelo fight..

did you see alvarez's head being snapped back like ruslans?

trout didn't land sht whilst throwing even worse punches than algieri, and alvarez actually was landing punches, strong punches

Kinda. A few differences however: Canelo landed cleaner and more frequent punches than Ruslan did and even Trout was landing harder punches than Algieri. But both bouts were close and hard to score.

Ruslan-Algieri reminded me more of Figueroa-Belmontes.

I can kind of see the comparison, but that fight was a LOT closer than yesterday's fight.

You could have given Trout that fight...it really depends on what you see.

I thought at the time of the fight that Trout won 114-113. In the subsequent times I watched it I found another round for Canelo. So that one could have went to either fighter.

There was 8 rounds for Chris yesterday. HBO's scorecard was ridiculous. I try to tune those guys out and not let their d1ckridingness affect what I was seeing.

I think the knockdowns and the eye were a big distraction from what was actually going on in those rounds. Algieri boxing well, sticking to a game plan (which Ruslan didn't seem to have...maybe throw punches, get knockout)

The fights were different imo. Canelo showed good defense and slipped a lot of Trout's jabs with his head movement. He also landed the cleaner punches throughout the fight. Trout did outwork Canelo though much of his work was ineffective or seemingly so. Canelo was accurate with his power punches.

Ruslan's defense, on the other hand, wasn't as sharp. He was consistently hit with the jab and his head was snapped back on several occasions. He was also hit to the body often. It looked like Ruslan was hurt to the body in one of the rounds. Algieri landed more effective shots than Trout imo.

Trout landed 20% of his punches.
Canelo landed 43% of his power punches.

              Both fights were close though.

                No. Not at all.

Alvarez/Trout was a boxing match where two guys stood at distance. The difference was in activity level.

Algieri/Provodnikov was a classic boxer vs. puncher fight where the puncher came forward and the boxer moved.

Absolutely. Because the boxer, austin trout beat canelo alvarez.
