I'm a converted Algierian after that fight. He's just got one of the coolest, god damn styles I've ever seen. It was an incredibly close fight but I gave it to the local boy same as two of the judges, 114-112.

Provodnikov just didn't do nearly enough when he had the chance. It seemed whenever he had Algieri backed up against the ropes he had to warm his arms up with a bunch of slow, inaccurate head punches before he actually started going to work, by which time Chris had already danced away and had landed about 20 "tap-tap" jabs.

    Great fight. Great night.

Ruslan is the HBO fighter so they had some guy tell Roach the actual scores at that point. Dude is a product and they were trying to protect it at all costs.

There is no way you can find me 8 clear rounds for Algieri, specially after being dropped twice.
        Just admit you were wrong.

After the 1st Provo did not do enough, he was not landing he was just presuring. Algery was landing clean punches and boxing. I gave Prove 4 rounds and even as a Provo fan I could not justify more. Algery won plain and simple.

Roach said: it's close Ruslan, we need a KO

It just seemed to me Roach was very concerned they could be losing or close to it and wanted Ruslan to put him down so there wouldn't be any doubt.

Two judges had Ruslan losing 114-112, so Ruslan did not actually need a KO to win going into the 11th. Winning those two final rounds and/or scoring a KD would have been sufficient.

The right guy won last night but we going to see in the next few mouths if Russian fighters have worry about American judges

still dont understand how roach looking around then saying he needs a knockout means anything if anything the only thing fishy was the first scorecard that was read that was a disgrace and whoever it is dont know how to score a fight. I was not following twitter or boxing scene reading it and when they started reading the scores they had during the fight i seriously thought they were kidding. It was such a blatant attempt to try to make it seem like provo was doing better then he was it was honestly a disgrace. HBO is seriously getting pathetic and im not saying that in a showtime vs hbo kind of way. I wish they would just start telling us what they see instead of telling us what their opinion is the whole fight. Its set up in a way to get people to think a certain way the score cards the way they base all the talk around a certain fighter. It just gets old they are nothing but infomercials for these promoters these days.

Prov did a lot of swinging and missing, not even enough of that! he didn't even throw when he'd backed chris up to the ring a lot of the time, he was just too slow and kept off balance much of the time.

obviously prov was going to land the harder punches in some rounds because he's a proven puncher but just because he had some brief spells of success they were completely overshadowed by algieris boxing skills for vast majority of the fight..

prov looked like a c-level boxer in there, if he hadn't knocked algieri down in the first round you could have called prov a bum in that fight, he was garbage from rounds 2 - 12
Algeri won IN YOUR OPINION. If it is so clear why do most people think Ruslan deserved the win even if it was one of his worse fights? Algeri made the fight close enough for him to get a hometown decision. He will lose his title to the first good fighter he defends against in my opinion..

Algeiri won and deservedly so plain and simple. Just because you knock someone don't twice in a round doesn't mean you automatically won a 12 round fight. I watch this fight 6 hours ago for the first time and didn't see anything controversial with who got the nod. The right man won and am glad they didn't give it to Provo because he was more well known.
