Let's be honest Mayweather/Garcia vs Cotto/Canelo PPV in September

I know it wont happen since both HBO and Showtime don't want to go head to head on PPV buys, but what if Cotto/Canelo PPV card was on September 13th the same date Mayweather fights his annual September fight?? I think this will really tell us Boxing fans how much we love Mayweather. I can honestly say that a Cotto/Canelo megafight will cripple Mayweather's PPV big time. Mayweather has been exploiting the Mexican holidays to sell his PPV's, smart business move by his team since they use the De La Hoya blueprint to sell PPV's but the truth is that if a better meaningful megafight comes along it will really speak on how much of a PPV star Floyd is.

A Cotto/Canelo fight will add another chapter to the Puerto Rican and Mexican boxing rivalry and the fight is bigger now since Cotto defeated Martinez, Canelo can grab a belt at 160lb and become a 2 time division champ. I will assume that Mexicans, Puerto Ricans and the latino viewer will watch this instead of Mayweather

A Mayweather/Garcia,Maidana or even Khan are also good fights but I doubt the Boxing fans will want to watch these fights over Cotto/Canelo unless they stacked the undercard heavy.

What do you guys think who gets the edge if both fights were held on September 13th?? which fight will sell more and how many PPV buys does each card generate. This is not a Mayweather bashing thread, its just a interesting scenario.

On principal I would not buy Mayweather Garcia until Garcia avenges his loss to Herrera and then fights a legit 147lber.

It would say more about the matchup quality than it would "love for Mayweather."

Sometimes this board is just hilarious

That Canelo vs cotto fight would make Floyd vs Danny do
                250k

Floyd won't fight Cotto at 160

Mayweather wins, especially if its for a Maidana rematch. What people on these forums fail to realize is that boxing fans dont drive PPV numbers. If thats the case then alot of guys would be stars. No, casual fans drive PPV and they are still far more familiar with Floyd then the other 2 who are mostly know to alot of people for losing to Floyd & Pac. Floyd still wins. His numbers speak for themselves. People just cant understand it or fail to admit it to themselves. He is the biggest star in boxing and if its the Maidana rematch, I bet even GBP & TR will tell you the same

DLT but I wonder how many Mexicans household buy Mayweather PPV's, don't you think the whole West Coast, Texas and Florida will rather buy the Cotto/Canelo PPV. I honestly think more people here in the US will buy the Canelo/Cotto PPV instead of Mayweather's PPV.

Again this is just my opinion I rather watch a war in which will end in a KO instead of a boring Mayweather decision.
