Given Miguel just came off a fight September is only a few months away. Would that be enough time for Miguel to relax and jump right back into another long, grueling training camp? We all know Floyd only fights in May and Sep. so I dont see him pushing the date back to Dec. from which I read is when Miguel is wanting to fight next.

that's what I was thinking too but unfortunately I don't think he'll ever fight anywhere outside of Vegas.

It's a shame too... Many of the sports greatest boxers in history fought here. Oh well

even if they were to fight there this December it would be a huge event. granted it wouldn't be right before the PR parade but it would be around the holidays and would still create a huge buzz in the city.

Considering Cotto was hardly punished in the Martinez fight, yes, Cotto have plenty of time to prepare for a rematch in September.

It won't happen. Cotto seems pretty intent on returning in December.

It would be enough time. Today's fighters tend to take more time than needed between fights. Hagler use to defend his middleweight title 4 times a year against real tough fighters if my memory is accurate.

if floyd called for the fight, the fight wold take place in September. the only thing that would be an issue would be the hbo/showtime situation. i don't know what cotto's deal with hbo is like if it's a fight by fight basis or what.

i think that would postpone a nelo or ggg fight for at least a year. if cotto beat floyd the rematch would obviously take place right after that. cotto would probably go back down to 154, and fight canelo in may if he lost.

i don't think cotto beats him, but it's probably a better option than those match ups that seem possible.

Didn't Ellerbe say like 2 weeks ago they were gonna name Floyd's opponent in a couple of weeks?

That means that they are already negotiating with someone for that Sept fight. Cotto just fought last week and hasn't even had a full week of vacation and time with his family yet.

                    It not gonna be Cotto
