I don't see how else they can deal with this then other than elevating Cotto.Cotto vs Canelo is huge, too big to baulk at.the WBC will surely want the belt on the line, maybe they could strip Cotto but makes his next fight for the WBC Jr Mid belt, promoting Floyd to super.who knows,I really doubt Miguel faces Rubio though,I can't see how he could motivate himself for the fight,or want to risk his lofty recent elevation in the PR stakes.

Can anyone see Floyd vs Lara if he somehow overcomes Canelo ? I suppose a Canelo vs Cotto would still sell if Canelo come through a close loss, hell with his fans it'd sell regardless.

I don't know... you make me think that. What date was that article about Canelo posted and my post posted? I think there's a considerable time difference.... 3 weeks?

Just remembered they could make Cotto champion Emeritus... just because. But the guy who usually does that is gone... so who knows.

If they make a fight w/o rubio in December without his consent... there's gonna be some drama

WBc threw the dimaond in when he fought Cotto to get their hands in on it.

I thought Sergio was too... Nishioka and Vitali were the most recent Emeritus champs I can think of

Did Nishioka fight whilst Emeritus ?

This throws me all this nonsense, emeritus, diamond, gold.its all bs.however it plays out the WBC will be exceptionally eager to have their slice of Cotto vs Lara/Canelo,would Lara vs Cotto even be possible with the TP/GB thing going on,is Lara signed with Haymon ? I'm sick of all this politics bs in boxing, preventing top match ups.god bless Oscar for ridding himself of those bastards.

Nah, after the Marquez bout he got the emeritus status... and I think Donaire won it... or something.

                  Lara/Cotto ain't happening on Bob's watch

El Veneno was Cotto's primary sparring partner for the Cheteao II fight. Cotto knows him well, and he saw that "boxer" styled King Cotto.

                      Cotto via stoppage, <9 rounds.
