Trinidad is one of my favorite fighters so when I heard he was getting inducted, I had to go. The Boxing Hall of Fame is located in Canastota NY. There isn't much to do around the area but the place was filled with boxing fans and boxing celebrities. There was a memorabilia show which had tons of autographed boxing photos, gloves, poster etc. There was alot of history there. At the show different boxers would take turns signing autographs. I ran into Kenny Bayless and had a quick chat about boxing. He was explaining what it takes to be a referee and how some guys try to get away with illegal tactics. I picked up an Oscar and Tito poster hoping I could possibly get it signed. Mickey Ward was everywhere and was mingling with fans and signing autographs. Saturday night we had to drive like 20 minutes away to a sports bar to watch the Cotto fight. Right after the fight, Tito shows up to eat but got mobbed by fans so he had to go. Eric Morales snuck his way in somehow but got to stay and ate without much of a commotion. I just gave him props shook his hand and went on my way. Met other fans there too had a couple beers nothing but a good time. Tito fans came out in force. Everywhere he went people chanted his name and he looked happy to be there. He also signed a decent amount of autographs. Oscar came in with police escort and was not as accessible but he did sign autographs after the inductions. Bob Arum also showed up to the induction. There was also a parade before the ceremony and many boxers where there also. It was a pretty good time, I recommend it to any fan of the sport
If you get a chance go to IBHOF induction
