i think cotto vs kovalev would sell,, make it happen! kovalev comes down a few pounds, cotto goes up a few pounds and they meet at a reasonable catchweight.

have the lightheavyweight wbo strap and wbc mw belt on the line at the same time!

Lost to Trout, couldn't knock out a disabled 40 year old, yup he's ready for Ward, Kovalev, Povetkin

Ward wants the PPV but even if he gets it I bet he ****s it up because he will think he is the A-side

Cotto would go down in history for greatness and for boxing fans if he stepped up to 168. He doesn't have to, but Ward wants PPV

Ward has to understand 168+ aren't PPV weight classes anymore, not even HW. Ward is cursed to be so big and so good. If he was a 154-160 guy and as accomplished as he is, he'd have a shot to fight Mayweather, Cotto, Canelo, Trout, Golovkin, Lara, Quillin, and other welterweights who go up in weight like Thurman, Porter, Khan, Maidana.

Unfortunately he has beaten every popular opponent at 168-175 except Hopkins Pascal, and Chavez Jr and I don't think either guy would fight him regardless of network/promoter issues, I could only see Pascal fighting Ward. The only guys left is a minor payday vs Kovalev, and probably a decent payday vs Stevenson if he fights him in Canada. Neither guy are big pay days or legacy enhancing fights. Ward vs Pascal is the best fight to make and that's not PPV material.

I think Cotto should go no higher than 160, but TBF Cotto-Trout was closer than the scorecards say. I personally had it a draw. I was not in love with Trout's jab workrate, which apparently is what wins him rounds in people's eyes.

Anyway, since Cotto is the A-side, what he should do is if Ward calls him out, tell him to come down to 164-165lbs and have his Ring/WBA 168 titles on the line, have the fight in Puerto Rico or MSG, it's a done deal. Sure Ward will be drained, but he did the same thing to Dawson when Dawson was looking for another popular fighter to do a fight with. In fact, it wouldn't be out of bounds if Cotto told Ward to come all the way down to 160lbs, then Ward will feel as weak as Dawson did and see what it's like to be fully drained.

There is no demand to see Ward on PPV. He has a lot of big wins, but unfortunately he hasnt been active enough in recent years and has lost alot of momentum through his inactivity, managerial issues, and seemingly having a diva attitude.

If he really wants to make a statement, he should consider travelling to the UK for the Froch rematch(Froch has all the momentum and fanfare atm despite having lost to Ward), move up and target pascal, target Kovalev, target stevenson. Then maybe he can create a big enough buzz to get a ppv fight against someone like Chavez or Bhop. Its a stretch, there arent alot of realistic ppv type fights available from 168-175.

Ward need to hurry up and get a fight. He sitting around waiting for GGG or chavez which i dont think either will happen. He as a big fight there for him in kovalev, which he wont take.

Froch has done so much more with his career since the super six and he didnt even win. HE making so much more money as well and looks like he will get the charvez fight cause he worked for it and didnt sit round and beg for it.

Plus he is more exciting to watch
