Comments Thread For: Roach Sees Several Options at 154, 160 For Cotto

Trainer Freddie Roach says Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs) has several options to choose from at junior middleweight and middleweight. Last Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Cotto beat up Sergio Martinez to capture the WBC middleweight crown, but the Puerto Rican boxer weighed in at 155-pounds, which is only one pound above the junior middleweight limit.

Everyone on that list easily walks over Cotto. Maybe a Trout rematch?

154? What's the matter? Aren't you the lineal middleweight champion? If he is going to fight at 154 it should be against Floyd or the winner of Canelo/Lara. The winner of Canelo/Lara Mr. Cotto. Don't go fighting Canelo after Lara beats him.

Roach keeps asking for a floyd rematch. Wants it before the canelo or GGG fights.

I wonder if Cotto tries ward at 168?

It seems Cotto has rightfully put his entire faith and career in Roach's hands.

I guess there's no denying the results.

Canelo and obviously GGG should be at MW while a Floyd rematch can happen at JMW since Floyd is a champion there. And if Cotto were to lose against Floyd he could still keep his MW strap.

Nah, no more than Pacquiao did, Roach just likes the sound of his own voice.
