Is anyone surprised? I didn't think so. Not only is Floyd stackin' major paper, I just read that Cotto's guarantee purse for Saturday night was $7 million as the "A" side. That's $1 million LESS than his guarantee purse for the Mayweather fight, and he was the "B" side:

Cotto will make a purse of $3 million for the fight, but is guaranteed at least $7 million. Martinez, meanwhile, has a purse of $1.5 million, with potential for a good bit more depending on how the pay-per-view does, as he has an upside bonus added on. The undercard is very cheap by major boxing event standards, with nobody making six figures:

    Wilfredo Vazquez Jr $65,000
    Marvin Sonsona $30,000

    Jorge Melendez $85,000
    Javier Maciel $10,000

    Andy Lee $70,000
    John Jackson $60,000

To most, it seems, there's another reality reflected there, and it's that the undercard promoters (not Top Rank) didn't much care what kind of show they put together, as it was all about paying the main event guys.

Glad to see a boxer topping that list. Now all the idiots who say boxers don't make good money compared to other athletes can go eat a crow along with the idiots who say boxing is dead.

This is based on checks from the sport right? Cause tiger's nike contract is like $50 million a year alone.

            Cong**** to TBE.....now that legacy

TBE tops Forbes highest paid athlete for 2014...the rumors that boxing is dead have been greatly exaggerated.

Cong**** to TBE, every boxing fan (whether you love him or hate him) should be happy on how this reflects on our beloved sport.

Amazing...Cong**** to TBE, securing his legacy.

This is from all sources, although for Mayweather it's primarily the fight game because he has little to no endorsements:

Mayweather earned $105 million during the past 12 months for 72 minutes of work in the ring for fights against Canelo Alvarez and Marcos Maidana. The payday puts Mayweather atop Forbes’ annual list of the world’s highest-paid athletes for the second time in three years. Mayweather is the first athlete, besides Tiger Woods, to crack the $100 million earnings threshold (Michael Jordan, Michael Schumacher and Mike Tyson have also turned the trick on an inflation-adjusted basis).
