Comments Thread For: Provodonikov: No Letdown in Facing Chris Algieri

Junior welterweight titleholder Ruslan Provodnikov had been hoping for another big fight to kick off his 2014, given that his 2013 started with the “Fight of the Year” loss to Timothy Bradley and then his title win over Mike Alvarado.

He didn’t get another major star opponent for his next bout. Instead, he’s facing Algieri, an undefeated prospect who will be appearing on HBO for the first time. But Provodnikov says there’s no letdown in facing Algieri in the main event of this Saturday’s card airing from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. [Click Here To Read More]

We seen how much trouble provo had with Bradley one Bradley stared boxing. Algeri is a decent boxer who can create tons on problem for provo. Should be an interesting fight

I think if he can avoid getting hurt, then it can get interesting. He said he's fought guys like Provo before... I highly doubt it. It all depends on how well he moves and how well he takes Provo's punches.

Like when everyone was bashing Herrera before the Garcia fight, calling him a nobody and saying he stands absolutely no chance. Herrera gave the champ hell

lol if the trend holds true of late provo gets taken to school. the guys on paper who everyone thinks has no chance end up doing great herrera, maidana twice, cotto u can throw in there somewhat just seems alot the guys who people over react cause they get the fight end up doing better then anyone else.

Nah I gave those guys a chance . Algeri has no chance of seeing 12 rounds.

Algeri is a manufactured fighter, not a born fighter. Algeri will be Mario stepping up to Bowser for the first time on saturday!!

Man lately the preconceived notions of the winner has been wrong. Maidana wasnt easy pickins, Cotto destroyed Martinez, and Algieri might just be poised to fight for his life not just get that HBO payday.

That's funny, all the preconceived notions all won in the picks that I made.
