How long is Espinoza going to keep his job at Showtime?

Espinoza is a facking patsy of Haymon and Schaefer, simple as that.

Schaefer and Haymon's plans for world domination are over. The Mayweather experiment has failed. The terrific splash Showtime made about a year ago (when GBP were intent on making a statement) has fizzled out.

How long are the suits at Showtime going to keep this model going? I mean, it was incredibly shady from the off. GBP's ex-attorney taking SHO from a channel that used to make the fights for the hardcore fans (while HBO did the bigger "event" fights, which usually weren't as good) into GBP's in-house channel? Gives Mayweather (a GBP-affiliated fighter) an astonishing deal, with an enormous guarantee each time?

Allows Haymon's fighters to get (over-paid) stupendously? Wildy overpaying Adonis for a fight that gets poor ratings and lands them in a lawsuit?

He is also now ****** enough to give Arum exactly what he needs - a reason to **** stir by pulling him off the conference call.

I mean, what now? He hangs around paying lip-service to this new interation of GBP run by Oscar, while really waiting to see what Haymon/Schaefer do?

What people have to realise is that if Haymon/Schaefer start their own promotional outfit and use Showtime exclusively like GBP have been doing, that **** isn't going to last. There is already a LOT of badwill against the Haymon/Schaefer axis. Pushing Oscar to HBO is only going to make things worse.

    Mayweather is also retiring soon.

Showtime are going to be in deep **** soon. It's been so obvious for a long time, so incredibly obvious that you almost think it can't, it just CAN'T actually play out like this....but the chickens are now coming home to roost.

Showtime are NOT going to overtake HBO. They are just going to burn badly trying to do so, while HBO are just waiting them out.

I don't like advocating for people to lose their job but Espinoza is nothing more than Haymon's puppet.

Really great post. U were spot on with everything here. Arum is nowhere near a saint but what Espinoza haymon and Richard were attempting to do the sport is a travesty.

Espinoza will probably be fired tomorrow. Wouldn't even be surprised

He was actually lucky to have had lots of fighters to start with. Fighters that were products of HBO's Berto-type deal funding. He didn't have to build up anybody. All he had to do is enjoy the food that was cooked by HBO.

Broner, Alvarez, Khan, Maidana, Berto, virtually all of them were built-up by HBO funding. Then there was the Mayweather hype, which turned out be a headache in the end.

ShowTime has done a horrible job at building fighters since he took over. Thurman and Porter would be headlining and getting a million viewers if they were on HBO.

Bump to counter-balance the other thread (made in retaliation to this thread originally where Big Dunn and ***** are telling us why Espinoza is so great for boxing.
