How is Hernandez ranked as the number one Cruiser?

Seriously, how? The guy beat Cunningham some 2 years ago for a vacant title and since then has done jack ****. Huck in the mean time has been fighting and beating better fighters, with names like Labedev, Afolabi, Nakash, Rusal and so on.

It's some crazy ranking system we have for some divisions.

First off The Ring champion is not necessarily the best fighter in the division. Hernandez was ranked #1 and Cunningham #2. Huck moved up in weight at the time. The best Cruiserweight is either Huck or Hernandez and frankly there's not much to choose between them. Huck has not always looked great. Many people felt he lost to Afolabi and Arslan in 2012. Has he proved he was the best Cruiserweight in the world? Absolutely not.

Cunningham is a much better fighter than Lebedev and Afolabi, and YPH's win over him (the rematch) is better than anything on Huck's resume. Let me also remind you that Cunningham knocked out Huck when they fought.

And who the hell are Nakash and Rusal? I can't believe you said these nobodies were better fighters than Cunningham lol. Who did they beat?

i never said they were better fighters than cunningham, do you know how to read?

I said huck has a better overall resume and that hernandez, since beating cunningham has fought no one of the calibre that huck has fought and beaten throughout his career.

one win does not make someone the best in that division irregardless of who they fight after, its a bit like the whole andre ward situation.

          froch yes

kessler damn controversial and such a dirty fight but fair enough win.

anyway, im saying its similar to the ward situation, where u have one guy who has beaten some of the best fighters in the division but isn't considered the best.

anyway, this isnt about ward you nut hugger, i need someone to convince me that hernandez is the best cruiserweight, after beating an ageing cunningham 2 years ago for a vacant title and not doing anything since.

if thats not what ur going to post about, gtfo my thread.

ward outclassed kessler every second of every round, there is nothing controversial about it. kesslers complete and utter refusal to even entertain the idea of getting in a boxing ring with ward again tells you everything you need to know.

his win over abraham isnt exactly nothing either for that matter.

in what universe isnt ward considered the best at 168lbs? the guys raked #2 and #3 dont even want to fight him! i agree he needs to fight someone else, but froch cant take wards spot while blatantly ducking him regardless of how inactive ward is as a result.

i do agree about hernandez though, i just dont think the situation is anything like whats happening at 168lbs. as far as i know huck isnt ducking hernandez.

              Yes you did:

Anyway, like I explained already Huck had moved up in weight to face Povetkin. Hernandez and Cunningham were supposed to fight and were ranked #1 and #2 respectively, therefore The vacant Ring Magazine title was on the line. No controversy here.
Hernandez is not the recognized Cruiserweight champion of the world. He has not proved he was the best in the division and neither has Huck. As for their resumes Hucks is better but Hernandez has the best single win.
