The second Brock steps up, he'll get KO'd. Fighting Jameel McCline was not stepping up.
Calvin Brock needs to step up

i'm big on Brock and yes he does need to step it up in his opposition, but he looked like **** last night. he was chubby and had some flab working on the sides, usually his skin is tighter. also he looked sluggish and i thought that he was being out boxed. he was landing the harder shots, but he wasn't boxing all that good. his inside fighting was mediocre at best. he does a lot better fighting from the outside, he had no jab last night either.
i know that he was working on his inside fighting last night, thats why they put him in against a guy with zero KO's, but i think that he should stick to boxing on the outside and be more prepared in his training.
i'm willing to bet that he takes guys like Zuri lightly and wasn't fully focused like he should've been.
Brock is good, he just needs to hone his skills some more and get into better shape. that and stay focused, the heavyweight division is wide open, anyone willing to step it up can be top dog if they wanted too.Comment

brock was in the worst shape ive seen him in, he totally took this guy lightly because he had no ko's. he needs to step up in his next fight, he is 31 his time is nowOriginally posted by deuce_dropi'm big on Brock and yes he does need to step it up in his opposition, but he looked like **** last night. he was chubby and had some flab working on the sides, usually his skin is tighter. also he looked sluggish and i thought that he was being out boxed. he was landing the harder shots, but he wasn't boxing all that good. his inside fighting was mediocre at best. he does a lot better fighting from the outside, he had no jab last night either.

i don't know how you say he had trouble with McCline other than the knock down. he out worked him and out slugged him in the whole fight. also he almost KO'd McCline in the same round he got knocked down! i was there ringside, i thought he did good considering the fact that McCline had more world level experience and out weighed him by 40+ pounds.....Comment

I saw that fight as well and thought to myself thats going to be the guy to beat. Then he just kinda fell off fighting worse compatition he should have koed bostice at least he is fighting often but his next fight needs to be agienst a guy with a name maybe with either briggs danny williams maskaev or williamson or even barret those would be good fights for him and beating any of those guys would be good for himOriginally posted by deuce_dropi don't know how you say he had trouble with McCline other than the knock down. he out worked him and out slugged him in the whole fight. also he almost KO'd McCline in the same round he got knocked down! i was there ringside, i thought he did good considering the fact that McCline had more world level experience and out weighed him by 40+ pounds.....Comment

imo i think he should try his chances at cruiser, brock is pretty good and is pretty average at everything, a little tune up on his defence and he can do alot, he is bit on the small side at 6'1 and 230 pounds ( he was 218 vs mccline) id say he can beat bell easly, if he is smart i think he could beat byrd and toney, wlad and lamon would be real real tough for himComment

For the record, Brock vs. Vitali was pretty much a done deal back in the fall of '04 before Rahman and King filed suit. He's been more active than most heavyweights and will get his opportunity. We'll see what happens when he does.Comment
