    Anyone watch Cotto-Martinez on Boxnation?

Due to the fact that I live in Ireland, I can either watch big US fights on Boxnation or stream the HBO/Showtime broadcasts on my laptop. Normally I watch them on Boxnation because I prefer watching them on a bigger screen. But does anyone else find their commentary and punditry to be completely inept?

They've added Larry Merchant to their commentary team which makes it a bit better but the main commentator is Bob Sheridan who I find it difficult to listen to. After several of the rounds during Cotto-Martinez(and the undercard) he asked Larry Merchant who he(Merchant) scored the round for and then claimed that he(Sheridan) didn't really know who had won the round and was just checking. Can you imagine Jim Lampley or Mauro Ranallo admitting to such a lack of competence?

Sheridan scored the 3rd round for Martinez, claiming he'd "outboxed" Cotto. In that round Cotto outlanded Martinez by 23 punches to 11(20 power punches to 6). He also scored the 7th to Martinez(19 punches to 7 in favour of Cotto, 15-6 in power punches). For someone who has supposedly called over 10,000 fights that is embarrassing.

But the worst thing about Boxnation is probably Steve Bunce. The man's an idiot. That is all.

Hopefully at some point in the future HBO or Showtime will have an online subscription service for people in Europe so I don't have to keep filling my mind with this bile.

I did. I can't listen to those guys at all. My wife can't even stand them.

Boxnation just taps into the Top Rank TV feed and you hear their broadcasters, Merchant and Bob Sheridan.

I don't think they're horrible, but they usually have a vastly different perspective from the HBO guys. I frequently disagreed with Merchant's assessments when he was on HBO, and I still do. Sheridan is ok, but he just gets influenced by Merchant

The worse part of them is that sometimes they don't show the entrances and little things like the crowd and stuff. I love hearing the sound of the crowd and the atmosphere in the arena, but all they have is that guy constantly talking.

That's the Top Rank feed. Bob Sheridan gets lit the **** up during fights, and is usually completely drunk by the main event.

Personally I think he's hilarious and love him. He'll start to ramble about some random **** (usually US Navy related) during the main event of a fight and his co-commentator will just sit there silently.

Like already mentioned Boxnation gets the Top Rank feed. I try not to take any notice of the commentary but Sheridan really pisses me off with scoring every round and trying to influence the viewers.

I cant stand the commentary on Boxnation toprank fights. Golden boy events have doug fisher commentating with another guy which I don't mind.

But overall the commentators sound very unenthusiastic its hard to listen at 2am-5am

              i dont really mind bunce.

Yep, they certainly don't help when you're trying to stay awake.

I hate Bunce and Lillis constantly talking over each other too. It's hard to put up with at 2am.

Didn't know that about Sheridan. On the Top Rank TV broadcast for Cotto Martinez undercard off PPV portion, he did the braodcast ALL BY HIMSELF! I guess Merchant is too good for undercards, and Crystina Poncher came in to help out during the 1 minute and 30 seconds of the Verdejo fight lol

Yep I watched the Top Rank feed via BoxNation and it was pretty bad.

I used to really like Larry Merchant's commentary but he's slowed down so much the round is over by the time he finishes a sentence.
