Most objective and rational minded boxing fans realize that Andre Ward is the 2nd, at worst 3rd, best boxer in the world.

Of course the Andre Ward haters aka Floyd haters aka haters aka Roy Jones haters aka Bernard Hopkins haters aka Pernell Whitaker hater, etc... will say otherwise.

Andre Ward has cleared out his division and literally has no one of worth to fight in his weight class. He is an undefeated pro and former Gold medalist.

When is the last time he even lost a fight at any level??

Andre Ward would kill Kovalaev and later on the "haters" will strip him of the credit he deserves anyway. WE KNOW THAT!

The reality is that the Kovalaev fight is not a PPV and Sergei is in a higher weight class. What is the sense in that? Why wouldn't Andre pursue a Chavez fight that would take place in his own weight division, on PPV and at a higher net gain??

He's exactly right about going to 175 right now too. I'm an admitted Ward fan, but it's not a stretch to think Kovalev will put him out. Ward isn't ready to move up and even when that time comes Kovalev is dangerous for EVERYONE. If Ward were to take that much of a risk, he probably wants to get paid a premium for it. A regular HBO show won't do that.



I also think you guys would be pissed at him if he actually considered going up and tried to take easier opposition before taking on Kovalev. But no, first fight at 175 he's gotta see the boogeyman, a belt holder at the new division he probably doesn't even belong in.... I think many of you just want to see him lose.

He got a huge premium fighting La Bomba on HBO. What he doesnt see is that if he were to beat Kovalev he could put himself on a track to be a PPV draw.

Oh look, the Golovkin situation... except Ward already beat everybody around his weight class and is turning down fights now because they're "steps back" and Golovkin is now able to unify and fight other champions.

I don't get his reasoning. 168 is no longer the go-to weight class. It has withered away. 175 is not much either, but at least there are potential opponents there.

He has this sense of entitlement that he is not deserving of. This is a game that will move on without him. If you sit on the sidelines you will disappear in them.
