  • What's next for Austin Trout?

I haven't heard much about him since the Lara fight. Have there been any reports recently from reputable sources of who his next opponent might be?

its going to be hard from him going from here. he is a very good fighter, but coming off two losses and he has a style thats hard to look good against. its just a really bad fight for anyone to take atm.

there are a lot of young prospects at 154 atm, trout would likely be their last choice but they cant all get title fights at once. someone will be left out and someone near the top of the division will take an L themselves and fall back a bit. as they do trout may become their best option.

i would personally like to see him against kirkland, that would be a very interesting fight imo. to see if kirkland can be effective against a championship caliber technician and if trout can rebound against a dangerous opponent.

He fights Daniel Dawson from Autrailia in August. After that? Who knows.

He has a great win over Cotto but was outclassed against Lara and fell short against Canelo. I think he should go after Quillin belt and try to wait for a big fight at 160.

At 154 he will just be fed to the 10 or 15 up and coming prospects.
