Comments Thread For: Sonsona Plans Defense Before Possible Title Fight

“Marvelous” Marvin Sonsona plans to defend his newly-won North American Boxing Federation featherweight title or his WBO International title in an “activity fight” over ten rounds before he steps into the ring for a possible world title fight.

Sonsona’s manager Dr. Rajan Yraola told BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard that following their arrival on Tuesday, Sonsona would leave for his hometown of General Santos City to fix his house which was gutted some months ago in a fire and to celebrate his 24th birthday on July 25.

In this generation as a boxing fan its good to see different cultures (ukranians/filipinos/argentians/tajikstans/etc.) Being able to lose/win fights and win/lose championships. If you tend to generally pick your own race...your not a true boxing and your nothing but a bigot. Thats why many high class or well-to-do will always consider boxing only for the low class or a poor mans sport.

some consider boxing as a poor mans sport because you probably won't see too many senators sons getting their brains scrambled to make a living. The Tyson's, pacs, and mayweathers all come from the other side of the tracks. Their is talent and hunger inside of them. This is what pushes them to greatness.

sonsona needs to get with a better trainer. he didn't look that good against vazquez jr.

he's still young so he has time to improve and get better.

Why does Vazquez have to be a sore loser and Sonsona an olbliging saint. Sonsona wants to do everything to please the fans, but Vazquez was the bad side of an ugly fight? Think again Ronnie. I picked Sonsona to win also, but not because he's a Philipino, but because Vazquez is slowing down. Sonsana get's his respect, he won an ugly fight, but Ronnie needs to quit tooting his biased horn.

He looked like a poor man's Donaire fights in spurts loads up on shots and yes lackadaisical which reminds me of Donaire.

Gradovich would be the target he's the weakest beltholder.
