Comments Thread For: Hyde Talks Rigondeaux, Frampton vs. Martinez II, N'dam

Gary Hyde is almost weary when discussing the reasons why his main man Guillermo Rigondeaux can’t secure a fight with one of the other champions in the super bantamweight division. The Irishman has been Rigo’s manager for his entire professional career which has seen the Cuban become a world champion in only his ninth contest, as well as a comprehensive victory over Nonito Donaire. BoxingScene caught up with Hyde to discuss matters at 122lbs as well as what could be next for Rigondeaux.

I hope Rigo sign with Haymon. Haymon does better with highly skilled technicians. Somehow he' seems to be able to get them fights, whereas TR does better with guys like Ruslan. Then again, even Haymon has been too slow with Gary Russell Jr. I just want to see Rigo, Russell Jr., Santa Cruz and Mares in a new Showtime tournament!

Guillermo " hit and not get hit rigondeaux " the most avoided fighter in the game "
Thanks al Haymon , welcome showtime . Ja ja .

Kid Galahad is the most likely to fight Rigo of the 3 because he has nothing to lose and no other more lucrative options, unlike Quigg and Frampton.

It's really not complicated to understand the risk-reward aspect of match making. Especially with how fickle boxing fans and media are about a single loss these days then of course fighters are going to protect their undefeated record for lucrative fights. Rigo brings a very high risk of losing and bugger all money, you don't need to be Donald Trump to work out that's bad business.

Blame all these morons who completely disregard a fighter after they lose and over-rating undefeated records against modest opposition for why the boxing culture of taking minimal risks exists.

Rigo is even willing to go to Manchester or Belfast and they STILL won't fight him.

Well, they can make all the money they want but they better not dare call themselves world champions because they really aren't. To be the best they have to beat the best.

Steve Ballmer takes a page out of the old LA Forum lol.

Eight man tournament for the best featherweights he can finance:

                  LSC

                  vs.

                  Kiko

                  Mares

                  vs.

                  Quigg

                  Frampton

                  vs.

                  Rigo

                  Nonito

                  vs.

                  Gonzalez

Gary Russel Jr as first alternate on standby

Just a fantasy I know but if only the money was right to get all these agents/managers to put their differences aside like the Showtime Super Middleweight tournament. Could Ballmer and Showtime do this at the Staples Center if they really, really wanted to?

I forgot about Gonzales and Kiko, having both of them in a tourny would guarantee wars
