Who does Cotto fight if Lara beats Canelo?

Cotto-Canelo was a fight that came close to being made a few months ago, and will 100% be made if Canelo can get past Erislandy Lara next month. But what happens if Lara beats Canelo? It's a distinct possibility—Lara is only a +165 underdog. What's out there for Miguel if the megafight is spoiled? Does he go ahead and fight Lara? Or give Marco Antonio Rubio his mandatory title shot at MSG? Dare I suggest he might fight GGG?

I suspect he'l fight Rubio at MSG on HBO World Championship Boxing to get him out of the way and will still get a nice payday. You could put James Kirkland vs. Joshua Clottey as the co-feature.

Cotto should fight the number one ranked middleweight in the world,GGG regardless of who wins the fight between those two excellent 154 pounders. Cotto is the middleweight world champion so it's time for him to take care of middleweight business and fight GGG who Martinez avoided. If he wants to fight at 154 he should give up his new middleweight title.

And there we have it. Cotto's next opponent. That's the first guy that crossed my mind.

I need to bookmark this. This will be three consecutive fights you will be wrong about Cotto. So sweet.
