I would agree with this. I don't know if a rematch is warranted.

I finally find myself on the opposing side with Dunn. If you are judging between which guy did better, I agree that Maidana is more deserving. However, when you look at which is the better "event," the Cotto rematch wins hands down. I feel bad for Maidana, but I don't see how Floyd would choose anyone over Cotto, unless it was Pacquiao. We know he's not fighting Pacquiao, so Cotto is the best option. Khan can't come close to a Cotto rematch.

YOu make a valid point. Floyd v cotto in NYC for the MW title is an absolutely huge event. But I thought floyd won the first fight by a wide margin. Of course, Roach wasn't there. SO you have angles/backstory to make the event huge.

(and for all the **** on NSB arguing that fighting floyd doesn't pay that hot-which fighter has roach and arum talked more about since saturday canelo or floyd?)

I just don't like to see rematches that I don't think need to happen. The fight gets Cotto money and floyd a chance to win the lineal MW title (and fight in NYC, which means I can actually go to the fight).

But rather than a card with floyd/cotto 2 and danny/matts 2, I think it should be floyd/maidana 2 and danny/herrera 2.

posters who don't like floyd don't want to see a rematch because they think floyd will win the lineal MW title and have 3 lineal belts simultaneously.

You're a purist, which is admirable, but that first card is bananas compared to the second. The second is just a righteous choice, but not a "business" decision. Mayweather vs. Cotto 2 in the Barclay's with Danny/Matts 2 or Maidana/Broner 2. Can't beat that!
