I think it was a concession by Cotto. I think Cotto actually negotiated to be announced second. Whether his change of heart was something the came up last minute, or whether it was his intention all along, I wouldn't venture to guess.

Maybe he intended to let the champ come out second all along and just made it an issue during the negotiations as part of the mind games. A d*ck measuring contest of sorts.
