if he wants to claim to be the true middleweight champ he needs to beat GGG.
If he wants to claim to be the middleweight champ while fighting guys from the division below and avoiding GGG it will devalue the title.

He did great beating martinez all credit to him. But either fight GGG or move back down now. Don't devalue the middleweight title.

Canelo if he beats Lara then maybe Mayweather because could Mayweather turn down a chance at being middle weight champ?? I don't think it will be GGG because at this point I can see Cotto beating May or Canelo but, not GGG .

Miguel Cotto just beat Sergio Martinez, who beat Kelly Pavlick, who beat Jermain Taylor, who beat Bernard Hopkins, who beat Antonio Tarver, who beat Roy Jones, who beat John Ruiz, who beat Evander Holyfield, who beat Mike Tyson, who beat Larry Holmes, who beat Muhammed Ali, who was the greatest heavyweight ever, so obviously Cotto should fight Vladimir Klitschko.

^LOL that made me laugh. It's clear that Canelo is Cotto's best choice. Probably has to put Marco Antonio Rubio on the undercard against someone like Martin Murray, Curtis Stevens, or Glen Tapia with a stipulation in the contract that they get the winner of Cotto/Canelo next.

Better be careful because unless the fighter is shot or C class he is losing.

Canelo, if he beats Lara, but if Lara wins, why not, they both beat Trout, Cotto doesn't stood a chance against GGG or Quillin.

Cotto can also wait in September 2015 as he will be an attractive opponent for Mayweather's last fight, first he needs to beat Canelo or Lara.

I'd go after Mayweather or Tim Bradley. Both are big time PPV revenue, both are winnable fights and if you lose, it won't be an all out war that forces Cotto into retirement. Win or lose Cotto can still come back and fight Canelo later for a pay day and then fight one last farewell fight.

I don't like the Bradley match-up. I think Cotto handles him easily, Bradley should look at fighting Brandon Rios, Hank Lundy or Thomas Dulorme.
