Comments Thread For: Golovkin Mentally Strong, Would Face Mayweather at 154

The normally business-like Gennady Golovkin wasn’t himself. He was a bit distracted. Somewhat out of it. Preoccupied. Golovkin later admitted to not being entirely focused when he opened training camp on May 17 in Big Bear.

But he had good reason to be that way.

Golovkin’s father, Gennady Ivanovich Golovkin, died of a sudden heart attack on Feb. 18 at the age of 68, causing Golovkin to spend a 40-day ritual mourning period in Germany and his native Kazakhstan, where he was at the time of the death. Golovkin was also forced to cancel an April 26 bout at Madison Square Garden against Andy Lee to make arrangements. [Click Here To Read More]

He can't be serious. His big ass walks around at 190 pounds. These punks need to fight guys bigger or at least their size. He has plenty of comp at 160-175. Floyd was once a featherweight. Whats next, Kiltshco vs Mayweather?

Yup. Choosing WWs instead of moving up and getting his ass whooped by Ward or Kovalev. B/itch s/hit.

fight ain't happening. not just due to size but the networks. now all things considered, if the networks we not an issue, I would not rule this fight out completely because Floyd may need to take a risk like this to make the money he wants unless they can develop popularity of WW in the casual fans eyes that casual fan feels could beat Floyd.

with 3 fights left, Floyd is trying to cash out big time.

It is a risk for mayweather.who is the champion at 154. This guy was at the fight last night. Cotto just beat a damaged champion who they crippled when the home cooking took this man's knee brace. So now that cotto is the champ at 160. That should be the fight that triple girl should be wanting.

Who wouldn't want to fight Mayweather?

It's the biggest payday you can get in your career.

              Right or wrong.

He comes in to the ring at 168. Same weight as Ortiz. And if he fought Floyd at 154, maybe even less.
