The last time Cotto fought Floyd on Showtime, his guarantee was 8 million. It was also his highest guaranteed purse of his career at that point.. Floyd also fought him at the full 154. Canelo (GBP) offered Cotto 10 million, and he turned it down for a chance to make history. Now whether it's Canelo or Floyd, I guarantee Cotto is getting at least 10 million on Showtime. Question is "what would HBO be willing to do for Cotto for a GGG fight, and does Cotto think he can make more in a GGG fight, than he could with a Canelo or Floyd fight?" I doubt it.

Oscar could really strong arm Showtime here on who they back
If he values that relationship with Espinoza he won't. Canelo is the only worthwhile fighter he got. If he leverages on Espinoza he might not get another date

No one expected for Martinez to be that crippled. I can't give Cotto the props I would have if Sergio was at least 30% of his 36yr old self. This guy had two fight in about 26 months, I thought he would've recovered, but obviously he didn't.

Sergio's old body obviously didn't respond to his mental commands. But hey, would you turn down a fat payday and a chance to beat one of the biggest names in boxing? I don't blame Sergio for taking this fight. Good call. Bad timing, that's all.
Roach successfully took this fight since he knew (and told in interviews) that Sergio was done. Just by looking the way Mtz. ended the Chavez Jr.'s fight and his last fight against Murray revealed they had good chance to beat Sergio (i.e. 2 knee surgeries and one hand operation plus 13 months of inactivity).
I think justice was served yesterday since Sergio really lost vs. Murray but a home decision saved him keeping a belt which really didn't belong to him anymore.

Cotto had a 7 million guarantee for Martinez. I'm sure his next fight in hbo will be for 10 or more. Maybe he fights Canelo on hbo.

Cotto fought Floyd on HBO not Showtime.
