Problem is Miguel ISN'T the real middleweight champion. He fought a 40 year old dead man at 159 pounds instead of facing the real best middle weight in the world- Gennady God of War Golovkin.
You can put a gun to Miguel's head and he still will never fight Golovkin.
Beating a 40 year old Sergio with 2 broken knees broken elbows and broken hands is one thing, fighting a prime Triple G is something else entirely. Miguel himself knows Golovkin would kill him.
Martinez did duck him. That still doesn't mean that Cotto has to duck him, it just means he will because he is afraid of the real top dog in the division.
Come on man. You can't expect Cotto to fight Golovkin, and he shouldn't be criticized for it either. There's better and bigger money fights for him to take. We know what this was. It was a shot at history, and I love that he won, but I don't expect him to defend the MW belt against the other champs.

It's not even commendable to be a top dog in that division, you fail to realize that.

The best should compete against the best. That is the motto of every sport. If Mr. Cotto is truly the Lineal Middleweight champion then he should fight GGG and not hold the belt hostage like Martinez did. He doesn't have to fight GGG, he can just hand him the title for all i care.
GGG who? Let this guy get some quality wins first, goddamn.
How? If no one wants to fight him. I'm sure fighting Mayweather and Canelo(2 unproven middleweights) is what you want Cotto to do. Why put him in the ring with the real man in the division when you can cherrypick guys from other divisions? I honestly dont care if he fights those 2, just don't call yourself the lineal middleweight champion and hand the belts over to GGG.
