You guys lets be honest. Re-watch and look how his knee really took away from the Martinez we are all used to seeing. His lefts were not even close to full power, not even close. Cotto did what he was supposed to do to a less than 100% Martinez, therefore congratulations to him. I really hate how the majority of fans will place an asterisk (including myself, I can't help it) next to Cotto's win because Martinez was not healthy in this fight whatsoever.

Before tonights fight people on here was mocking Freddie, saying he don't know **** about boxing. A lot of people on here saying Cotto is too small against Sergio that even a 60% healthy Sergio will beat up Cotto. After the fight and saw how easily Cotto manhandled Sergio, everyone that made those comments are now making an excuse for Sergio's Knees. Like Max said, when Sergio stepped in that ring he wasn't hobbling or limping. He was as his usual self until he got caught with that left hook that sent him across the ring. Those body shots and left hook by Cotto was the key to his victory, yes Sergio's knee gave up on him after suffering those 3 KDs. If you think Cotto didn't improved under Freddie's tutelage, then a lot of people here don't know boxing at all.

Cotto doesn't need to defend the title...he beat the officially recognized champ at MW and he's accomplished winning a title in another weight division...
