Props to Sergio for being the only fighter to ever say "no excuses" without following up with an excuse.

Go back on the threads, called this long time ago. Martinez too old and too many injuries. A roach trained cotto is a different cotto than we're used to. I wanna see cotto vs Floyd rematch

Cotto has fought the biggest stars in Boxing, Martinez the Barkers, Murrey's, and other guys of late who are not stars. The class difference came through with Cotto tonight. I remember a number of us getting attacked because we used the Rodriguez fight to show that Cotto was rededicated.

It was hard to see him completely fizzle like that.

I have always been a fan of Cotto's. He has been in some great fights and is a talented fighter. It was an insult to him, however, to suggest that this was his most impressive performance.

Cotto deserves credit, but the reality is that he beat a fighter who was fighting on one foot. Martinez, who I also like tremendously, displayed an incredible amount of heart. It was clear from the first round that he was not anywhere near 100% physically and I thought it would have been appropriate for him to call it a day then.

Cotto, because of his size, is easy prey for any of the young, healthy 160 pound champions, and he certainly doesn't want Golovkin coming down to 160. Cotto's team took a smart, calculated risk in making this fight, but in the final analysis, I don't think Cotto's victory over Martinez means anything at all to Cotto's already impressive legacy given the unfortunate circumstances which were apparent. If Cotto and his team are smart, they'll move back down to 154.

Kudos to Martinez for a great career. From what I understand, he's a successful businessman and hopefully he'll enjoy a healthy, prosperous career outside the ring.
