Australian trainer Jeff Fenech thinks his IBF flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan might not be in tip-top shape for the scheduled title defense against Filipino Diosdado Gabi which takes place early next month in California. [details]

What's that? An early excuse?
He and his team knows that he has a title defense on a specific date, why then start training late?
HE better get in shape fast, no matter how because Gabi is joke of a fighter. -
Jeff Fenech is a joke, he screwed up Greens title shot. He's not cut out to be a trainer/Manager of 5 or more boxers(or any boxers). Pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!Comment

Darchinyan will beat Gabi
Doesnt really matter what Fenech says. He may be setting Gabi up with this, not all the talk is true you know, it is often to throw the opponent off.
I dont think these belts are going anywhere.

Ya bro, its gonna be LIVE on ShowBox Friday, March 3rd starting 5pm PST, the Darchinyan vs. Gabi fight should be at 8pm.
Its Darchinyan's first fight in Southern Cali. He always fought in Australia, now came here cuz he has a big Armenian fanbase here in the LA area.
Myself and 10 friends are going to Chumash Casino for the fight and it is almost sold out, should definitely be a great fight. Gabi(26-3 18KOs) is quite a contender, but Darchinyan(24-0 19KOs) should be able to knock him out. Darchinyan just signed a deal with Gary Shaw and once he gets passed Gabi, Arce may be his next opponent.
Thes Flyweights do put up great fights, it really is sad as you mentioned that they dont get as much publicity and credit for their fights.Last edited by VanesBoxing; 02-26-2006, 05:15 PM.Comment

Darchinian is Armenian, not Australian.Originally posted by KatzVic "the raging kangaroo" Darchinyan is looking past Gabi, that will be the biggest mistake of his life.
He will be KTFO in round 6.
I watched Gabi fight 3 times he is more skilled than the raging kangaroo.Comment

Darchinyan was born in Armenia and his first language is Armenian. His boxing career did reach new heights in Australia where he resides, so he does represent the kangaroos from down under as well.
This is the flag he usually enters the ring with (half Armenian, half Australian)
and if anyone gets Knocked The F*** Out in the 6th round, its gonna be Gabi.Comment
