Cotto is in a lose, lose situation

If he loses obviously, he lost.

If he wins, "Martinez was past it" and essentially he lost.

He won't get much credit either way when he wins tonight...especially not here in this forum.

    Let's go Cotto!

Why? Becuase Martinez is hurt? He says he is 100% and even at 100% he aint what people think he is. He had trouble at 100% with guys like Cintron, Barker and Macklin who are average fighters.

How am I joking? I'm saying if Cotto wins (and especially if he wins convincingly) he won't get any credit because people way say he beat a "shot" version of Martinez.

Neither fighter is in a lose, lose situation. Everyone agrees, both fighters are a little over the hill but, this is still a massive fight. I actually think you can argue that this fight is more ofa lose-lose situation for Martinez than you could for Cotto.

this. if martinez wins then so what? he beat a much smaller and past prime opponent.

if cotto wins he makes history by becoming the first puerto rican fighter to win 4 world titles in 4 weight classes.

He'll get credit for the same reason he took the fight...a fourth division world title, and a middleweight championship.

These "lose, lose" threads are a joke.

I don't think so. I don't think Cotto is any threat to Martinez whatsoever.
