I don't believe he is out of the shape. According to his Abel he always comes in a good shape before the camps.

He is standing beside a legit heavy in Perez and he doesn't look like he is dwarfed standing beside him at all however he does make Geale look like a small MW...

Now you see where that power comes from. Even on fight night, his entire frame is like that of a workhorse. Very stocky all the way through...I think it's kind of funny when people say he is a "small MW" because he is on the shorter side. His frame is that of a guy that can carry 180 pounds easily.

When Chavez was being negotiated Sanchez said they weren't going to put on any weight for it. In the picture Golovkin is standing square to the camera while Perez is sideways so you can't see how wide he is in comparison. Just the jacket and perspective.
