Comments Thread For: Arum Says He Will be on Golden Boy Call Next Week

The last time that this writer can recall Top Rank and Golden Boy executives being involved in a media conference call at the same time was back in August 2011, when Yuriorkis Gamboa, then with Top Rank, fought Golden Boy featherweight Daniel Ponce De Leon.

They were asked about promoting together for the first time in awhile — the Cold War between them had already been going on.

It's like getting the car you've always wanted without an air conditioner, heating, seats, or tires. The cold war is still here. Haymon has all the damn fighters.

“Well Oscar has asked me to be on the conference call next week, and I will be. That’s the way it should be. It’s the normal type of procedure.”
      Interesting.

Well Arum might retract his statement once the dust settles and Oscar finds out that half of his stable is not actually his.

**** Chauffeur is a real **** for not wanting to work with Arum, if Arum truly wanted to help end the Cold War. If Arum can be a bigger man, why not **** Chauffeur?

Didn't GBP/TR work together for Lara-Martirosyan in 2012, or was that only promoted by one or the other? Felt weird at the time.

We are going to have to get used to seeing Arum and Hoya on fight nights together. Hoya is going to have to regroup and start signing fighters to his stable. He still has fighters that can match well against TR fighters not a lot but some.

It will last because with Arum it's M.O.E if the money right Arum there er night... Shafer took stuff personal. It's never personal it's business and Haymon won't stop his fighters making money. That's how you get fired. He is their manager or advisor not their boss. He works for the fighters . It's not like he has them under promotional contracts .. It's a lot of fights they can make though like Gary Russell against Donaire .That's a fight I would love to see. GGG vs Canelo. Hell Canelo vs JCCJ is a fight I'd pay for that. Bradley vs Garcia .Manny vs Thurman..Bradley vs Khan It's a number of fights that can be made. It's a lot of money that has been left on the table. I think ODH seen that and realize Floyd can't run their company especially at age 37. And especially since he gets the majority of the profits from his fights. That's bad business for GBP not Floyd he got off like a fat rat.
