    Ring size

I know the ring size for all of the super six tournament were all 20x20 but what I want to know is how small exactly was that ring that Groves vs Froch II fought in and why would they honestly need such a small ring for such a huge ass venue I mean 80'000 people in there...

I can only feel a bit bad for the people who spent £120-300 for those cheap seats to be watching such a poorly made ring.

I can't honestly see Ward IF he does come to the UK agreeing to fight Carl in a rematch that he'd accept fighting in such a small ring like that, I can remember seeing some small boxing rings but that one for the PPV had to be the smallest boxing ring I've seen in recent years.

    18 foot ring

was in the contract and groves probably either overlooked the issue or did not make an issue about it because:

    - it would reveal his plan was to move
    - didnt want froch to think he respects his power

I think he didn't respect Froch power either, he really should of looked into that further, idiotic gameplan on wanting the KO.

Still surprises me that for such a huge stadium like Wembley that they'd go for the downsized ring.

he did respect his power ......thats why he fought on the back foot like he did

was wrong gameplan imo but i thought thats what he was gonna do and thats why he would lose

froch doesnt like being pushed back.

Why? The fighters would still look the same size regardless.

Because its arguably one of the biggest venues we will have this year you'd expect a standard ring size but I guess its clever management by Eddie Hearns getting that in on the contract because the movement Groves had in the first fight was greatly helped by that extra bit of space he had in the original ring they had fought in.

Partly he did I guess but being pushed up against the ropes like he was and not being willing to go for the clinch was a bit daft you would not see Ward being daft like that willing to give his opponent a free shot.

Clinch effectively your opponent shouldn't be able to hit you too hard.

Doesn't necessarily spark any fairness though does it?

I can somewhat understand some football pitches not being precisely all the same size but with a boxing ring you'd think It'd be easier to keep a consistency with that rule of measurement.
