He was weight drained and couldn't give his best performance. In Manny's defense, he is a light weight fighting at welter because he is a special little fighter. Not many can do what he does, fight in and fight out against bigger guys. Floyd is much bigger than Manny so he had no excuse for fighting Canelo, who was champion at a catch-weight. Manny also jumped two divisions into welterweight and said in the beginning, he wasn't so sure how he would handle the punches there. That is the reason for his catch-weights against De La Hoya, Cotto, and Cheeto. He fought Clottey at 147 and Clottey rehydrated to 170lb on fight night. Canelo likes to rehydrate heavy as well.
