I'm curious as to why he threw a left hook instead of a right hook or straight right.

Thought the same, I always used the straight right but he is a pro boxer and maybe from the angle he was standing in relation to the bag knew he would get more leverage out of it that way is my guess but it is just a guess.

I've cracked 1k on that machine quite a few times... Granted I've got like 50 pounds on khan but 940 isn't really a whole lot for a pro boxer...

Before anyone says anything "but but but there's only 3 digits on the meter".... It goes all the way passed the 900's and then goes back to 001 once you crack 999

So can you crack 940 with a left hook?

i've never hit one. i would definitely set up similarly to khan, and throw my left hook. itwould be an odd angle, considering that the target is up high.

i am right handed, but i have a big left hook. i learned how to throw it on a speedbag, which is similar to this apparatus.

i've never used one of those machines, but i'm pretty sure i'd hit it with the hook, too. it's not a great angle for your right hand. right hands are usually best when you get full extension on them. they have snap at the end of the punch. your left hook snaps when you turn it over. just turn it over through the target, and use your lower body for your power and leverage.

These machines are utter bullocks.. I had one in my Shisha Bar few years back, you can change the settings on them from Easy, Medium and Hard meaning the machine is not accurate..

Trust me having punched it over a million times it does not show the power of your punch. Only thing it might show is how strong your throw is that's it...
