Comments Thread For: Carlos Cuadras is Open To Facing Edgar Sosa Next

New WBC super flyweight champion Carlos “Príncipe” Cuadras (30-0, 24KOs), has been describing the Battle Royal, in which he dethroned Srisaket Sor Rungvisai last Saturday in Mexico City...and his future plans.

“It was a tough fight, but we managed to win. The headbutts happened because of the stance of both of us. I’d love to have kept fighting but this is sometimes how things happen in boxing.

Cuadras would blitz him...Sosa lost a shot last year, totally dominated in Japan...I read where Concepcion of Panama was mentioned, as he's just jumped 2 divisions 2 115, but must win their Silver belt 1st, so he's 9 months/ a year out...Cuadras brings a lot...

That belt was well earned. I liked the way he boxed and pulled those thudding combos that stunned Srisaket, however Sor has cement in his gloves. That body shot nearly folded Cuadras in the 6th or 7th round, good thing he used his foot speed and lateral movement to keep the Thailander off of him. That cut was disgustingly massive and it was a good stoppage, Cuadras did do enough to stay ahead and boxed very maturely during the entire bout.

Now, a fight vs Sosa would be interesting. I just read Sosa wanted a rematch with Segura or challenge Estrada at Flyweight but moving up to fight Cuadras is a great fight as well. Sosa is a good fighter but Cuadras will out hustle him and look grand with his flashy and thudding combos landing with ease. Cuadras by late K.O.

So no rematch and does he want to move up in weight after one defense it didn't come off as concrete.

Sosa is a name in the lower weights but Cuadras would make it easy how about a Narvaez unification he's the best at the weight and has been.

Maybe after Gonzalez beats Yaegashi, he could fight the winner of Cuadras-Sosa. Who do you think would win?

Well Chocolatito is at 112 and Cuadras is at 115 so unless he is willing to move up, I'm not sure Roman would go up at the moment. There are many more lucrative fights at 112 for him. Hernan Tyson Marquez just moved up to 115 so he can duke it out with Cuadras as well.
